Kapil Sharma

Yesterday, internet almost broke over the news that comedian-actor Kapil Sharma earned the distinction of being the first television personality to be waxed at Madam Tussauds. Sorry, but the news that was doing the rounds on social media seems to be untrue. The museum authority has confirmed this.

“Thanks for getting in touch. We currently don’t have any plans to make a figure of Kapil Sharma at Madame Tussauds, London, but we will take the suggestion into consideration for the future, thank you. Once we have confirmed a new figure we always publish the news on our website and social media pages first, so stay tuned there to get the official up to date latest figure news,” they conveyed through a mail.

Apart from this, the authority has also confirmed that Delhi is soon to have a Tussauds wax museum and that will happen any time by early 2017.

“At this early stage, all we can confirm is that Delhi will become the newest location for a Madame Tussauds wax attraction in early 2017. Full details of the experiences and celebrity figures to be featured are still being finalised. As soon as we have any further information we will be sure to pass on,” they said.

Hmm… that’s some disappointing news for Kapil’s fans. Going by the way the news reports stated that the comedian had met the Tussauds team in Mumbai and the statue was to be done in four months, many of us sure believed in it. However, let’s hope it happens sometime soon!
