Salim Khan’s old interview on Salman Khan

The name of Salman Khan is surely never be forgotten in Bollywood. He is one of those few superstars who you may love or hate, but certainly can’t ignore. Apart from his successful movies and a string of some controversies, he is the one who is much known for his kind-hearted nature. Many would be aware that the actor has founded the trust Being Human Foundation, in the year 2007, which is largely involved in charity work. This organisation churns out a lot of resources to help out the people who are in a needy. Indeed, Salman has always helped others and recently our eyes caught upon an old interview of Salman’s father and veteran scriptwriter Salim Khan where he had recalled an incident when his son earned his respect and in a way showed how much he loves his family.

In his interview, Salim Khan had said, “Salman earned my respect when he took the beating that should have been Arbaaz’s. I had repeatedly warned them not to touch the car and one day I came home to find it bashed up. Salman really got it that day but he took it without a murmur. The next day I discovered that it was Arbaaz who’d banged the car.” (Also Read: In a quest to save his life: When Salman Khan was tied to a rope and thrown into a well!)

Further, he added saying, “There’s a lot of compassion in Salman. He has always helped others. Our sweeper’s son, whom he used to play with in the compound, recently opened a video shop and asked Salman to open it. He went willingly and even stayed for the party, said a few words and danced. Ask him to go on stage and he’ll baulk, he’s a little shy and that inhibits him.”

Well, Salman has a heart of gold and his goodness has really earned him love and respect not only from his family but also his countless fans and admirers out there.

This old interview with Salim Khan and Salman Khan was printed in the year 1990 in Filmfare after the release of 'Maine Pyar Kiya'.
