There was a buzz that Salman Khan got secretly engaged to Romanian model lulia Vantur and their marriage is likely to happen in 2016. However, Salman denied all the rumors and said, "There is a lot of buzz about a lot of things about me, which is never true. Yes, I read what is written, hear what is said, and my right answer to your question would be that I am indifferent to all of it. The small things don't bother me at all, but they bother my parents. And that really bothers me."

In an event, Salman Khan once admitted that he wants to get married and settled with his own family. The actor said, “If somebody sends me a proposal I will seriously consider it. I am open to arranged marriage. Sometimes, love marriages don’t work and arranged marriages do. And sometimes, it’s the other way around. It depends on the individuals, how they go about their lives, how compatible they are.”

During a radio interview on a 92.7 BIG FM show, Salman Khan was asked about the ultimatums his family has given him, the actor said: “I have got an ultimatum from my family to increase my level. No one in my family is forcing me to get married.” He also added, “Yesterday I said I am okay with doing an arranged marriage and today I am not okay day after I will have another answer,”

Once Salman Khan was asked about what kinds of qualities he would like to have in his wife, Dabangg Khan answered, “I want someone who is very efficient with good qualities of a homemaker.”

In an interview, Salman Khan once said that, “One should marries to have children, but I already have children, my nieces and nephewes are my children. I wanted to marry to make babies, but now I have them, so marriage isn’t that important, is it?”

During a promotional event of Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, Salman Khan revealed that though his director is a true romantic who is very loyal to his wife, on the other hand he(Salman) is not a loyal person. The Dabangg Khan said, "I don’t like going out for dinner as I don’t like those cameras on my face and don’t like people taking pictures while I am eating. Every time a candle light dinner happens, there is a problem as there will be some conversation on marriage or some other conversation and I know that the candle light dinner will end in a fight. I have been for candle light dinners only twice and both times, the same thing happened. Also, I can’t go out and hold the hand of my girlfriend in public, as I feel that holding hands in public is a public exhibition and showing off of your relationship to others and I don’t need to do that. I have never seen my father hold my mother’s hand. In fact, just recently he started holding her hand, as she needs a little bit of support to walk. I feel that what you can’t do in front of your parents you should not be doing outside."

During Prem Ratan Dhan Payo promotions, reporters asked Sonam Kapoor, “You’ve said in an interview that all men who love their mothers make great husbands. Salman Khan loves his mother.” Sonam replied, “He’ll make a great husband.” But Dabangg Khan denied this statement and said, “I doubt it, Sonam. I’ll be the worst husband is why I’m not married. Because I know whoever’s going to be with me is going to be unhappy.” Salman further added, “When I know that person is going to be unhappy, then why should I be with someone and put her through this torture of being married. I’d be a good father!”

During the press conference of 'Bigg Boss 9', Salman Khan was asked when will he get ‘double’, to which he replied,“I have got double since “Maine Pyaar Kiya” and now I would turn triple for ‘Sultan’. He also added, “Marriage is not for the lifetime, in which generation are you living in…not happening.”

He said, he will think about tying the knot only after the verdicts of Jodhpur and Mumbai courts. During India TV’s show ‘Aap Ki Adalat’, Salman Khan told Rajat Sharma, ”I will think about marrying only after the courts give their verdicts. If the verdicts go against me, I will marry only after coming out of jail.” Salman further added, “I hope to be acquitted in both cases, but if I marry before the verdicts, will it be fair? Suppose, if there is a turn of events and I am sent to jail, and my wife has to come with our child to meet me in jail. Will it be fair?”
