Bollywood actors with small roles who were promoted as the lead

Nargis Fakhri (‘Azhar’)

‘Azhar’ starred two actresses, Nargis Fakhri and Prachi Desai. While both the actresses were promoted well by the makers, the former unfortunately had a very small role in the film. She was only there for some 20-25 minutes.

Neil Nitin Mukesh (‘Wazir’)

He was there at the trailer launch and had given an interview in which he had stated “This is my darkest role.” The way he had given the interview made us feel that he is the prime antagonist in the film. But, had only one scene in the whole movie and that too of not more than 10 mins.

Ranbir Kapoor (‘Roy’)

Ranbir Kapoor hardly promoted this film as he had a special appearance. But, then the trailer, promos and the songs had Ranbir all over it.

Yami Gautam (‘Badlapur’)

From day one it was said that Yami Gautam has a very small role in the film. But then she was the only one promoting the film with Varun Dhawan. Huma Qureshi, who comparatively had a major role in the film, was not seen at the promotions.

Katrina Kaif (‘Dhoom 3’)

Katrina Kaif was regarded as the lead actress of ‘Dhoom 3’. But, she only had 2-3 songs and 2-3 scenes in 2 hours 52 mins movie. We were actually wondering what made Katrina sign the film.

Sonam Kapoor (‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’)

The makers of the film had clearly stated that Sonam Kapoor has a cameo in the film. But, we saw her in the trailer and the songs of the film. And yes, she was also spotted promoting the film at several events.

Rani Mukerji (‘Talaash’)

Rani Mukerji was promoted as one of the leads in ‘Talaash’, but after watching the movie all her fans were disappointed. The actress was hardly there for 20-25 minutes in the whole film. Well, her performance was one of the highlights of the film; however everyone wanted to see her more on screen.

Salman Khan (‘Main Aurr Mrs Khanna’)

Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor starrer ‘Main Aurr Mrs Khanna’ failed at the box office and one of the reasons was that the former was hardly there in the film. He had a very small role in the film and Sohail Khan was the actual lead actor of the movie.
