Returning back to the silver screens after a gap of almost two years, actress Prachi Desai is playing the role of Naureen Azhar, first wife of cricketer Mohammad Azharuddin. This is the second time she will be paired with actor Emraan Hashmi after ‘Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai’.

Lara Dutta

Another powerhouse talent Lara Dutta will be seen playing a character with some grey shades for the first time in her filmography. She will essay the role of a lawyer who is more on the enmity side for Azhar’s character played by Emraan Hashmi.

Emraan Hashmi has been preparing for this role almost for a year and a half and the hard work of this ‘Jannat’ star has paid off with the authentic look and accent he has carried in the film.

The real and reel ‘Azhar’ are on stage before the trailer of the movie was unveiled.

The story of rise and fall in the life of the most controversial cricketer Mohammad Azharuddin is ready to be told on sliver screens with actor Emraan Hashmi-starrer biopic named ‘Azhar‘. Emraan Hashmi, who is playing a real life character for the very first time in his career, was too excited as the team launched the official trailer of this movie on Friday evening. This Tony D’Souza directorial, which also stars actresses Prachi Desai, Nargis Fakhri and Lara Dutta in pivotal parts, saw a star-studded event where everyone interacted with the media and shared their experiences while being a part of this project. It is slated to release on May 13, 2016.
