About Vivienne Westwood Fashion Show
The show featured a mix of ready-to-wear and couture ensembles. It included a special capsule collection crafted with handwoven Chanderi silks and Khadi fabrics provided by Aaranya Gwalior and Khadi India. The runway showcased a range of styles. From sheer silhouettes to signature tartan and wool fabrics, corsets, and sculpted voluminous skirts, the show had it all. The collection was accessorized with bags, jewelry, and footwear that added an extra edge to the runway.
Despite the humid weather and a slight delay, the show captivated the audience from start to finish. The brand’s CEO, Carlo D’Amario, expressed gratitude to the guests and hinted at future collaborations in India. The show closed with the iconic song “Boom Boom” by Nazia Hassan, leaving a lasting impression on the audience.
The event was a celebration of India’s rich artisanal textile heritage. The use of textiles from Madhya Pradesh made it a special moment for Priyadarshini Scindia, the founder of Aaranya.
