Mahesh Babu In Legal Trouble?

As reported by Deccan Chronicle report, the Ranga Reddy District Consumer Commission in Telangana has issued legal notices to Mahesh Babu over him endorsing a real estate firm. The report states that a Hyderabad-based doctor filed a complaint against the ‘Guntur Kaaram’ actor and Sai Surya Developers alleging she was cheated out of Rs 34.8 lakh after buying plots that allegedly did not exist.

The actor has been named as the third respondent in the complaint and is accused of endorsing the developer and influencing buyers through misleading promotions. The complaint also claims that Mahesh’s endorsement of Sai Surya Developers helped build trust among customers. At the time of going online, neither Mahesh Babu nor his team commented on the matter as yet.

ED Questioned Mahesh In April

In April 2025, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) had questioned Mahesh Babu as part of a money laundering investigation involving Sai Surya Developers and the Surana Group. As reported by PTI, the firm’s owner, Kancharla Satish Chandra Gupta, has been under investigation for a while over. The reason – defaulting on a major project called Green Meadows.

Mahesh Babu was the project’s brand ambassador and was reportedly paid Rs 5.9 crore for it via cheques and cash. The report stated that the actor was not being investigated as an accused. They also added they he was likely not involved and unaware of the scam. They stated that he may have ‘endorsed the realty projects of the accused companies without knowing about the alleged fraud.’

On the work front, Mahesh Babu was last seen in Trivikram Srinivas’ 2023 film Guntur Kaaram. The actor is currently shooting for SS Rajamouli’s untitled jungle adventure film currently known as SSMB 29. The upcoming film – penned by Vijayendra Prasad, also stars Priyanka Chopra and Prithviraj Sukumaran in pivotal roles. It is touted to be similar to the classic Indiana Jones films.
