Tamil filmmaker Vikram Sugumaran passed away on June 2 in Chennai at the age of 47. He suffered a major heart attack while travelling on a bus from Madurai to Chennai. As per reports, he had just narrated a script to a producer in Madurai before starting his journey. During the trip, he began feeling severe chest pain and was rushed to a nearby hospital. Sadly, doctors could not save him.

Vikram Sugumaran is survived by his wife and children, who live in Chennai. His sudden passing has shocked many in the Tamil film industry, as well as fans.
Actor Shanthanu Bhagyaraj was among the first to express his sadness. He posted on social media, sharing pictures from their time together on set. In his message, he said he had learned a lot from Vikram and would always treasure those memories. Even, music composer Justin Prabhakaran took to X and shared his heartfelt condolences. Vikram was best known for directing the film Raavana Kottam, which starred Shanthanu Bhagyaraj. At the time of his death, he was working on a new project titled Therum Porum. It is unclear what will happen to the film now.
So far, Vikram Sugumaran’s family has not released an official statement about his death. His passing is a big loss to Tamil cinema, as he was known for his talent and dedication to filmmaking.
