Actor Vijay Deverakonda has been reportedly hospitalised after being diagnosed with dengue, just days before the release of his highly anticipated film. The action-packed movie, centred on the post-Independence Sinhala-Tamil conflict, is scheduled to hit theatres on July 31.

According to a report by Entertainment AF, Vijay is currently receiving medical care and is expected to be discharged by 20th July. His family is by his side, offering support during his hospital stay, which is likely to continue under medical supervision for the next couple of days.

Neither Vijay nor his team has issued an official statement regarding his health. The hospital where he is being treated has not been publicly disclosed, leading to concern among fans. The health issue comes at a crucial time, just ahead of the film’s release. But sources suggest that the team is continuing preparations for the launch of Kingdom.

About Kingdom

Kingdom is directed by Gautham Tinnanuri. It is an action film set against the backdrop of the post-Independence Sinhala-Tamil conflict. It explores the refugee crisis stemming from the region’s historical tensions. The film was initially scheduled for release on May 30 but faced delays. The release date was pushed to July 4, and subsequently further to July 31.

The delays were previously thought to be linked to heightened tensions between India and Pakistan following the terrorist attack in Pahalgam on April 22. Despite these challenges, anticipation for Kingdom remains high among fans. In addition to Vijay Deverakonda, the film features Bhagyashree Borse and Satyadev in significant roles. Made with a budget of Rs 100 crores, the film is set to release in theatres on July 31.
