The Telangana Police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) against 25 actors and influencers, including Rana Daggubati, Prakash Raj, Vijay Deverakonda, and Lakshmi Manchu, for allegedly promoting illegal betting apps. A businessman registered the FIR alleging that during a conversation with youth in his community, he discovered many individuals had been influenced to invest their money in gambling apps, which were heavily advertised by social media personalities. However, actor Vijay Deverakonda’s team has now reacted to the claims.

Vijay Deverakonda’s PR team has now issued a statement clarifying that the actor’s involvement. “His endorsement was strictly confined to regions and territories where online skill-based games are legally permitted.” His team further mentioned, ” Honourable Supreme Court of India has repeatedly recognized online games such as rummy as distinct from gambling or gaming. It has been mentioned explicitly that the A23 platform involves skill rather than chance, making it legally permissible.”
