Veteran Kannada actor Harish Rai – who gained national fame for his role as Khasim Chacha in the KGF film, passed away on Thursday, November 6. As per reports, the 55-year-old actor died after battling stage 4 thyroid cancer for over a year. In a video shared on X (formerly Twitter) by the actor’s fan club, Yash was seen wearing a white shirt as he arrived with folded hands to pay his last respects. The KGF actor was seen offering a big garland on the top of Rai’s glass casket before standing beside the his son, Roshan. Yash held the grieving boy close as he spoke and cried while sharing him emotions. Watch the clip here:

As per reports, Harish Rai was undergoing treatment at the Kidwai Memorial Institute of Oncology in Bengaluru.

Danish Rai’s Demise

The news of Harish’s death was confirmed by Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar. Shivakumar took to X to share his condolences, writing, “The passing away of Harish Rai, the renowned villain actor of Kannada cinema, is an extremely sorrowful event. The film industry has become poorer with the death of Harish Roy, who was suffering from cancer.” He continued, “In films including Om, Hello Yama, as well as KGF and KGF 2, Harish had acted wonderfully and attracted everyone’s attention. I pray that his soul attains peace and that God grants strength to his family and loved ones to bear this loss. Om Shanti.”

Rai’s career spans decades and industries. He’s worked in Kannada, Tamil, and Telugu films, earning both critical acclaim and audience admiration.
