Actress Rukhsar Rehman, known for her nuanced performances in The Night Manager, URI: The Surgical Strike, PK, and many more, recently pushed through physically demanding conditions while filming a rain-soaked scene in Mussoorie for her new film Uttar Da Puttar. The shoot, which took place in freezing temperatures and heavy rain, tested her endurance and reminded her of her earliest days in cinema.
Rukhsar Rehman on shooting in Mussoorie
“Just two days ago, we shot a very challenging scene in Mussoorie. The temperature had dropped to around 12 degrees Celsius, and it was raining heavily. I had to be completely drenched for the sequence, and I honestly felt frozen,” Rukhsar shared.
Despite the weather, the actress didn’t let the discomfort slow her down. With decades of experience behind her, Rukhsar reflected on how the moment echoed her debut film.
“It instantly took me back to my first film, Yaad Rakhegi Duniya, where my first-ever song was filmed in the rains of Ooty, also in freezing conditions. These moments may look magical on screen, but they’re incredibly demanding to shoot,” she recalled.
Known for her discipline and dedication, Rukhsar admitted that filming in cold, wet conditions is something she finds particularly tough. “I feel very cold,” she laughed, “but these are the challenges that come with being an actor. When you’re surrounded by a committed direction and production team, it makes everything easier and more worthwhile.”
With this film, Rukhsar once again proves her resilience and passion for her craft. While details of the film are still under wraps, her commitment to delivering powerful performances remains unwavering.
