Stoïque By Arshna Raj, Mohammed Mazhar Take Centre Stage At Lakme Fashion Week

Popular digital content creator Prableen Kaur Bhomrah opened the “Echo” show in an all-white flowing layered creation that set the mood for the presentation. The inspiration was water’s fluidity as each ensemble moved between control and release, as well as precision and organic evolution. Known for her fluid shapes, which are often free size, the “Echo” collection from ‘Stoïque’ was visualised in exciting crushed fabrics that were created by only pressure and heat.

Also visualised were stripes of upcycled textiles that were crafted into floral motifs that made quiet statements of renewal. Embellishments also included embroidered blooms that blossomed on layered garments, creating at times a delicate yet bold impact. The silhouettes from the ‘Stoïque’ brand moved effortlessly from structured to fluid, projecting duality that was either grounded and strong or light and relaxed.

The colour selection matched the mood of the show, as deep, immersive hues came in unison with more playful tones to present a fine balance. Like water that inspired Arshna, the collection adapted, reshaped and reclaimed its fashion offering with great elegance and ease. The “Echo” collection from the ‘Stoïque’ brand by Arshna Raj reflected transformation not only in the beauty of art that created the line but also in fashion statements.

Mohammad Mazhar Paid Fashionable Homahe To The Craft Of HOMAGE Saharanpur At Lakme Fashion Week

A Mohammed Mazhar collection has always paid homage to various crafts and artisans of
India. His ensembles have a timeless appeal that have unveiled memorable stories for the buyers.
This season at Lakmē Fashion Week, in partnership with FDCI, Mohammed Mazhar gave stylish
flavour to the quaint town of Saharanpur in Uttar Pradesh. The collection called जिला सहारनपरु
revealed that in the town of Saharanpur lies a world that revolves around wood. Mohammed
learnt that according to historians, the intricate wood carving craft from the ‘Wooden City’ was
adapted with Italy’s influences of ancient beauty.

Using these fascinating carvings as inspiration, Mohammed Mazhar wove the narrative in the
fabric and told a fascinating story of his hometown through creativity. It was the heavenly beauty
of Saharanpur that boasts of world-famous Indo-European woodcraft, that pushed the designer’s
creative vision. Mohammed Mazhar also aspired to draw global attention to his city by promoting this time-honoured art form. By empowering nearly 200 artisans from Saharanpur who had abandoned the city and travelled to distant lands, the designer has brought them together again and created a
sustainable livelihood for them.

Mohammed Mazhar’s silhouettes have always been feminine, layered, fluid, dramatic and
timeless. His use of craft has been memorable, turning each ensemble into a visual delight.
Detailing was intense to highlight the flouncy silhouettes of the ensembles. Delightful lacey
edges were mesmerising on the layered free-flowing creations. Mohmmed Mazhar’s colour story
with white as the favoured colour of the designer and fabric selections, has ensured that the
collections are seasonless, allowing the buyers at times to even mix and match the fusion looks
from different collections.

Shilpa Shetty At Lakme Fashion Week

Dazzling star Shilpa Shetty looked sensational in a black and white zebra striped sari with an
impressive moulded bodice creation as she glided down the runway to end the show.
Mohammed Mazhar’s जिला सहारनपरु collection was all about the craft that was merged with
contemporary fashion directions for the summer months.
