A few days ago, as speculation intensified, Anshumat took to his Instagram Stories to speak out against the negativity. Without mentioning anyone directly, he emphasised the importance of kindness, especially in sensitive times. He wrote, “Be kind. You never know what someone is quietly fighting. I usually avoid posting stories like this, but I can’t stay silent when someone close to me is being targeted for no reason.”

He also criticised the culture of online trolling, stating, “Digging up on someone or tearing someone down for clicks doesn’t make you strong. It just makes you look stupid.”

Akriti has now clarified her stance and confirmed the end of her relationship with Anshumat. For context, Anshumat previously appeared on Rise And Fall to support Akriti, who was a contestant on the Ashneer Grover-hosted show. Akriti gained widespread fame after winning Splitsvilla 15, where she defeated Harsh Arora and Rushali Yadav alongside Jaswanth Bopanna. Before her relationship with Anshumat, she was romantically linked to Jaswanth. They were reportedly dating each other since the show began, and post a couple of months of the show ending they split up.
