Ramanand Sagar’s ‘Ramayan’ has become quite the rage these days due to the re-runs in the time of quarantine. Back in the ’90s when the show was a hit on television, the actors Arun Govil and Dipika Chikhlia were considered to be Ram and Sita for real because they were so good at their portrayal of the characters. The actors were applauded for their acting chops but Arun recently revealed that he received no award for his realistic portrayal of Lord Ram.

Arun took to his Twitter to reply to Raghuvendra Singh’s message that read, “10. To this tweet Govil replied that he has received no honour from either central or state government.

He wrote that he belongs to Uttar Pradesh but even there, no government felicitated him. He also stated that the Maharashtra Government too has not felicitated him as he has been living here for almost 50 years.

Well, that is quite saddening to hear that an actor of that calibre was not felicitated at all. Although they have not been felicitated, these shows have received immense love from the audience for a long time.
