Shrutika Arjun is a talented actress who has been a part of the showbiz world for years now. Not many people know that the Bigg Boss 18 fame also has her roots in the industry. Her grandfather, Thengai Srinivasan, was a great comedian in the South Indian industry. However, Shrutika also strongly believes that coming from a film family does not guarantee a successful and easy road ahead.
Shrutika Arjun On Nepotism Debate
Recently, the diva talked about the same when she said, “I believe nothing comes easy. This industry demands talent, and one has to constantly work on their skills and evolve. Coming from a film family might help with a few initial connections, but in the long run, it’s your talent and dedication that keep you relevant.”
The Bigg Boss 18 fame mentioned that while many believe having film connections makes things easy, it also puts a lot of pressure on an actor. “Coming from such a family brings a certain level of expectation, but I see it as a positive pressure—one that pushes me to work even harder to carry forward the legacy,” she shared.
“Audiences play a crucial role in an artist’s journey. While connections might open doors, talent and hard work are what truly sustain a career. Even if someone lands a role due to connections, without talent and dedication, the audience won’t accept them,” she added.

Shrutika then cited Khushi Kapoor and Ibrahim Ali Khan’s example, who were recently trolled for their respective performances in the movie Nadaaniyan. “It depends on the nature of the criticism, whether it’s trolling or constructive feedback. Both actors are young, new, and quite promising. We all learn and grow in this process. It’s about facing criticism head-on, working harder, and continuously improving,” she stated.
Shrutika Arjun’s recent notable work includes winning the third season of Cooku with Comali in 2022 and participating in Bigg Boss 18 in 2024.
