Over the last few months, the cast and crew of ‘Hamari Bahu Silk’ have been complaining about the non-payment of their dues. With no other option left, the crew of the show protested outside the show’s producer’s office. The protest was led by actor Zaan Khan. And not only him, but even veteran actress Sarita Joshi was also seen requesting the producers to clear their dues.

Reposting a picture of their protest, Zaan wrote, “Hamari bahu silk serial actors protested outside the producer’s office in Versova. Sadly, they have not bee paid their dues for over a year. The channel #zeetv too have not supported them. @zaan001 @partho_stylist #humaribahusilk #supportthem ?”

Senior actress Sarita Joshi who is also a part of the show in her interview with India TV requested all the three producers of the show to clear the cast and crew’s payment. She even said that during these testing time amidst the pandemic everyone needs money and even she wants her dues to be cleared as it is her hard-earned money.

Zaan shared a clip of her interview and captioned it as, “Hamari bahu silk. Its a shame. Such a senior respected actress who holds a Padma Shri award has to make a video like this. I don’t want to say anything more. THIS IS WRONG ON SO MANY LEVELS.”

Zaan’s co-star Chahat Pandey couldn’t join him in the protest since she is not in Mumbai. “Zaan has no option left now but to do something to get us the money. If I was in Mumbai, I would have been there with him. The protest is justified. All our pleas have fallen on deaf ears,” Chahat told the Times of India.

Meanwhile, actress Vandana Vithlani, who also worked in ‘Hamari Bahu Silk’ is selling Rakhis now to keep herself afloat amidst the financial crisis caused by the non-payment of dues.
