Krystal D’Souza Recalls Man Trying To Touch Her While Travelling In Mumbai Local; Says, “I Was 15, Main Tremble Hone Lagi”

Krystle D’Souza reminisced about a troubling experience she faced while travelling on a local train. She has worked in the entertainment industry for nearly twenty years and is best known for Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai.

During the conversation, Krystle opened up about being harassed during her commute in Mumbai’s local trains. She shared, “I used to travel to college via the local train. A lot of eve-teasing used to happen. When they see young girls, I don’t know what happens… I have no idea why some men go a little crazy. I have dealt with eve-teasing, and it wasn’t a good experience. It was a scary experience.”

She recounted the incident vividly, “I remember I was 15, the ladies’ compartment (in the train) was a bit empty, and he (a man) got in, and he tried to touch me. Maine uska haath pakda aur bahar feka. It was a reflex. I have no idea how it happened. And then, main tremble hone lag gayi. I was in a bad situation and other women helped me calm down.”

Krystle questioned the safety of women in such situations. She said, “But why should I have to feel like that? Even when I am travelling in a local train in broad daylight. If it can happen in broad daylight, how safe are we as women and young girls? It took me a very long time to get over it. I stopped travelling by local train after that.”

On the professional front, Krystle recently appeared alongside Munawar Faruqui in the web series First Copy, which premiered on Amazon MX Player.
