Poonam Pandey On Domestic Abuse
Poonam Pandey revealed that the experience of facing domestic abuse has left her emotionally scarred. Speaking about it to Filmygyan, she said, “I was never married. I was in a live-in relationship. Domestic violence in a relationship has put me into a situation where now I get scared to get into a relationship. It is scary. You always heal back, and currently, I am healing.”
Poonam also recalled a frightening incident when the police found her unconscious at home and rushed her to the hospital. She said, “I remember when the situation happened, the cops came into my house. I was in an unconscious state. They took me to the hospital. I have not given much importance to such things. I am happy in my little life. Mujha Jhansi Ki Rani nahi banana hai. Main khush hoon.”
The Lock Upp fame further added that she doesn’t want to get into a relationship. Poonam Pandey said, “When you see hospitals and cops regularly, you get frustrated. I just don’t want to see them again. That’s why I don’t want to get into a relationship. Mujhe aise lagta hai koi meri khush haal zindagi kharab kar dega. I was taking therapy but stopped it because I don’t want to go through it again. I just want to tell the women out there that it’s not necessary to take action against the violence. Sometimes it is better to just move away and live your happy life.”
Poonam was recently in the news for faking her death to raise awareness about cervical cancer, faced a lot of backlash for the stunt. Despite the controversy, Poonam seems focused on healing and finding peace in her own way.
