Actor Sagar Parekh has steadily built his space in the television industry with hard work, sincerity and a strong screen presence. Over the years, people have connected with him not only through his performances but also because of his down-to-earth nature. As the festival of colours gets closer, Sagar talked about what Holi really means to him, sharing memories and thoughts that came from the heart.
Sagar Parekh Reveals What Holi Truly Means To Him Beyond Colours, Festivities
For Sagar, Holi is much more than just splashing colours. He believes the festival carries a deeper emotional meaning. “I think Holi to me is about renewal, beyond the colours and festivities. It symbolises letting go of negativity, grudges and limitations. It’s a reminder that life should be celebrated with openness and equality. At least for one day, you know, barriers dissolve, and everyone comes together in pure joy. I think that emotional reset is what truly makes Holi special for me,” he shared to Bollywood Bubble.
Sagar On Fond Holi Memories
When asked about his most unforgettable childhood Holi memory, Sagar smiled while recalling his mischievous days. “Some of my, I think, fondest memories are from waking up early to filling buckets and water balloons before my friends were even ready. And I think planning, you know, playful surprise attacks on visitors in the society compound and everything. Troubling a lot of neighbours and passers-by. One more memory is that when we used to come back home completely drenched in colours, barely recognisable and seeing my family laugh at the mess. Those moments still make me smile. It was simple, carefree happiness, and I think it carried a lot of emotional depth for me because today I still remember a lot of Holi instances as fresh as ever.”
Despite his busy schedule, there is one tradition Sagar never skips. “No matter how busy life is, I always begin Holi by applying a little colour to my parents’ feet if they are around me, or video call them and take their blessings. It keeps me grounded and reminds me that festivals are about gratitude and togetherness first, and then celebration. That’s how my family and my family traditions, and I think all over in India, it has been like.”
Sagar Parekh On How He Celebrates Holi
Talking about how he celebrates now, he added, “I think I definitely enjoy full-on celebrations, but since I’m into acting and everything, and the schedule is such that I cannot use pakka colours. So, gulaals are my new thing, and some water, some music and the entire festival vibe is all about, you know, having good food. But yeah, I also believe in being mindful and respectful, ensuring everybody and everyone around is comfortable and celebrating responsibly.”
Reflecting on how Holi has changed over the years, Sagar noted, “Holi today is more conscious and aware. Growing up, it was all about, you know, fun without much thought. It was very carefree. Now there’s greater emphasis on eco-friendly colours, respecting boundaries and responsible celebrations. Social media has also changed the dynamic; we just don’t live in the moment, we share it now, on our social media platforms, especially Instagram. But, I think the core emotion remains the same joy, unity, and you know, reconnecting with our inner child.”
About Sagar’s Projects
On the work front, Sagar Parekh was last seen in Zee TV’s Jagriti: Ek Nayi Subah and is currently taking his own time before signing his next project, focusing on choosing the right opportunity that aligns with his journey.
