Sayantani Ghosh Dismisses Pregnancy Rumours After Returning To TV; Slams, “I Am A 41 Year Old Married Woman…”

Sayantani Ghosh, who currently stars in Jagadhatri, has firmly shut down pregnancy rumours after speculation intensified online. The actress addressed the chatter by sharing a detailed note on Instagram, clarifying that she is not pregnant and expressing shock at how quickly the assumptions spread simply because she has been wearing loose, flowy outfits lately. Calling out the mindset behind such speculation, Sayantani criticised the so-called “modern” society that still judges women based on appearance.

Taking to Instagram, Sayantani shared a note that read, “I AM NOT PREGNANT!! In a recent interview I was asked if I was Pregnant?? And the reason for people to speculate this just blew my mind — because in recent times I have been seen wearing more loose and flowy clothes. Like really WHAT THE HELL. Sadly this is what we call a modern and forward thinking society. Still so typical in our thought process!”

The actress added that there’s constant chatter around women’s empowerment, yet people still rush to judge women. “WHAT AN IRONY,” she mentioned. Sayantani continued, “Another point added to the list of judgements that I have faced over the years! Such level of insensitivity is so sad and ridiculous!”

Sayantani On People’s Low Judgments

She also emphasised how such “low judgements” can cause mental turmoil and lead to self-doubt. “So here’s the truth — I am a 41 year old married non pregnant woman. I wear comfortable clothing because I prefer it that way… With age my body has changed, it is a certain type now and there is no shame about it! I looked a particular way in my 20’s, 30’s and now I am what I am… I owned it then, I own it now! I was confident then, I am confident now! As they say ‘change is the biggest constant in life.'”

Sayantani added that such rumours can trigger self-doubt and mental stress. She highlighted the irony of constant conversations about women’s empowerment while insensitive judgments continue unchecked. And she openly stated, “I am a 41-year-old married, non-pregnant woman. I wear comfortable clothing because I prefer it that way.” She said her body has changed with age and she embraces it fully, just as she did in her 20s and 30s.

On the professional front, Sayantani’s show Jagadhatri recently premiered on Zee TV and airs daily at 10 pm.
