Shefali Jariwala, famously known as the Kaanta Laga Girl, passed away suddenly on June 27, 2025. She was just 42 years old. Her untimely death has left fans and the entertainment world shocked and heartbroken. Shefali was rushed to Belle Vue Multispecialty Hospital in Mumbai after 11 p.m. on the night of June 27 and was dead on arrival by the doctors.
Shefali Jariwala Passes Away at 42, Laid to Rest in Mumbai
Shefali’s husband, actor Parag Tyagi, was with her during her last moments. He took her to the hospital and has since been helping with the investigation and funeral arrangements. On June 28, her last rites were performed at the Oshiwara crematorium in Mumbai. Parag was seen looking heartbroken as he travelled with her body from Cooper Hospital to their home and then to the crematorium. Addressing the media, he said, “Please mazak drama mat banaiyega. Main ab sab se request karta hu please meri pari ke liye sab pray kariyega’ (Please do not make a drama. I request you all to kindly pray for my fairy)”
According to a report from The Times of India, she may have died from a cardiac arrest. However, her family and the hospital have not confirmed this. Her body was sent for a post-mortem to find out the exact cause of her death. The official report is still awaited.
Many friends and celebrities of Shefali Jariwala arrived at her residence and later at the crematorium to offer condolences and support to her grieving family. Among these were her fellow Bigg Boss 13 contestants, Shehnaaz Gill, Mahira Sharma, Paras Chhabra, Arti Singh and Vikash Fatak a.k.a Hindustani Bhau, Mika Singh, Sunidhi Chauhan. Later, the pandit ji confirmed that the actress’s final rites were completed and a small puja would be held on June 29, 2025.
Many photos and videos were taken by the media during this emotional time. After the cremation, Parag briefly spoke to the media. He thanked everyone for their support and requested privacy as he and the family mourned her loss. He also asked for prayers for Shefali’s soul.
Shefali Jariwala rose to fame with the hit song Kaanta Laga and later appeared in various reality shows. Her sudden death is a big loss to the entertainment industry.
