Naveen Kasturia Opens Up About His Character Ajit Doval In Salakaar; Says, “Faruk Kabir’s Passionate Vision Guided Me”

Actor Naveen Kasturia is taking on a powerful and challenging role in his upcoming series Salakaar. He plays Ajit Doval, a legendary Indian spy who carried out secret missions in Pakistan during the 1970s. The show is inspired by real events and offers a look into the risky and brave world of undercover intelligence work.

Naveen Kasturia Says Faruk Kabir Guided Him

Speaking about the role, Naveen said it was both mentally and physically demanding. He stated, “Character-wise, portraying an individual of such astuteness and constant alertness, while living with the imminent danger of being an undercover operative in 1970s Pakistan, was a unique experience. One misstep could mean capture or worse.”

For Naveen, this role was also his first time doing action scenes on screen, which made the shoot even more intense. He credits director Faruk Kabir for helping him through the process. “Physically, it was my first foray into action, making it incredibly demanding. It was Faruk Kabir’s passionate vision that truly guided me through this transformative role,” he added.

Salakaar stars Naveen Kasturia, Mouni Roy and Mukesh Rishi. The series will stream on Jio Hotstar from August 8. The story focuses on the secret and dangerous missions carried out by Indian spies during a tense time in history. Ajit Doval, the man Naveen portrays, later became one of the most respected security advisors in India.
