Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai Actor Ashish Kapoor Arrested In Pune Over in Alleged R*pe Case – Report

Television actor Ashish Kapoor has been arrested in connection with an alleged rape case. According to police, the complaint was filed in Delhi’s Civil Lines area. He was arrested in Pune after police tracked his movements across different cities.

Ashish Kapoor Arrested In Rape Case Filed In Delhi

The woman who filed the complaint claims the incident took place during a house party in Delhi in the second week of August. She alleged that Ashish raped her in a bathroom at the party. An FIR was registered on August 11, and police began searching for him soon after.

Initially, the woman named multiple people in her complaint, including some unidentified men. However, she later changed her statement and accused only Ashish of rape.

Police said they are still investigating the case and taking legal advice. They are looking into all possible angles. A report by The Indian Express states that the woman also claimed the assault was recorded on video. However, police say no such video has been found so far. According to the report, Ashish and the woman met through Instagram, and he invited her to a party at a friend’s house, where the alleged incident happened.

The FIR also names Ashish’s friend, his friend’s wife, and two other men. Later, the woman said Ashish and his friend raped her, and the friend’s wife hit her. That couple has since been granted anticipatory bail.

CCTV footage and witness statements show that Ashish and the woman entered the bathroom together. Other guests reportedly knocked on the door when they didn’t come out, leading to a heated argument.

Ashish is known for roles in TV shows like Saraswatichandra, Molkki, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, Dekha Ek Khwaab, and Bandini.
