Anurag Kashyap

The debacle of the Ranbir Kapoor-Anushka Sharma-starrer ‘Bombay Velvet’ seems to have only added to Anurag Kashyap‘s zest and passion for filmmaking. Not only did he pick up his broken pieces, he quickly went on to finish his next, ‘Raman Raghav 2.0’ with a vengeance. The original ‘Raman Raghav’ was director Sriram Raghavan’s student film. The trailer of Kashyap’s noir thriller will be out today, and is being eagerly awaited by fans of Kashyap’s brand of cinema. Nawazuddin Siddiqui-starrer ‘RR2.0’ will be premiered at Cannes this year, and that itself is being celebrated by the patrons of world cinema.

Adding to the excitement is another news from the Kashyap camp – there is buzz that Anurag Kashyap would be producing his protege, Vasan Bala’s next film, which is said to be a Mixed Martial Arts film, and has a strong female protagonist. The casting has just begun, and Vasan must be really excited to put this project together. His debut film ‘Peddlers,’ that he made in 2011-12 won him critical acclaim at Cannes and various other prestigious film festivals, but did not get a release in India. Since then, he has been assisting his mentor, but after all these years, looks like Vasan is ready to go solo again.

We heard that the title of Vasan’s film is a tribute to Amitabh Bachchan, and is one of Big B’s most iconic lines. Can you guess what it could be? Share your guesses in the comments!
