Nothing is permanent in Bollywood, neither the friendship nor animosity. Over the years we have seen the best of friends turning into foes and vice versa. To name a few, we have seen how relationship has changed between stars like Salman KhanShah Rukh Khan, Karan JoharKajol, Aamir KhanJuhi Chawla, Karan Johar – Kangana Ranaut. But what recently caught our attention was actress Anushka Sharma and ace designer Manish Malhotra back to being friends. Manish shared a picture on his Instagram where the ‘Pari’ actresses was seen in a Manish Malhotra outfit. (Also Read: PARI: Anushka Sharma will SPOOK the HELL out of you in 18 seconds. WATCH!)

Anushka and Manish were the best of friends and on many occasions, the actress was seen wearing the designer’s best of outfits. Things turned bad between the two in 2016 while the two were shooting for director Karan Johar’s ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’. Anushka during the making of the video said,“Lehenga was too heavy. I was looking like a beautiful bride, and not feeling like a beautiful bride.” which didn’t go down well with Manish who was quick to respond to it.

Further, at the recently concluded star-studded, Virat  – Anushka reception in Mumbai, we saw the likes of Karan Johar, Sidharth Malhotra, Kriti Sanon, Vani Kapoor, Katrina Kaif, Sakshi Dhoni, Rekha, Sridevi, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and many others all dressed up in Manish Malhotra outfit. Whereas Manish himself chose to give the event a miss. Anushka also chose designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee over Manish for her wedding day and reception outfits.

For her mehendi, Anushka @anushkasharma wanted a boho look full of bright colours. Hot pink was her favourite. We created a graphic lehenga in fuchsia pink and Indian orange. It was hand-printed by the famed Calcutta block printers and hand-embroidered with gota and marori. Artists from The Sabyasachi Art Foundation rendered a beautiful sixties pop print and it was silk screen printed, hand woven Indian silk. Anushka accessorised herself with earrings from the Sabyasachi Heritage Jewelry collection, a stunning pair of jhumkas crafted in 22k gold with Iranian turquoise, tourmalines, uncut diamonds and Japanese cultured pearls. Custom juttis in hand woven brocade and zardosi completed the look. Virat @virat.kohli opted for a signature khadi kurta churidaar with our classic fuchsia pink textured silk Nehru jacket detailed with the Sabyasachi House blazer buttons. A custom tan leather jutti with a zardosi crest was created for the ensemble. #Sabyasachi #TheWorldOfSabyasachi #SabyasachiJewelry #AnushkaSharma #ViratKohli @bridesofsabyasachi @groomsofsabyasachi

I don’t think Indian brides feel complete without wearing the colour red in one of their functions. Anushka decided to wear red on her reception. And much to my absolute delight, it would be a red Benarasi saree. From the by-lanes of Peeli Kothi in Benaras. I was particularly excited about this look because I have seen an entire generation of Bengali women getting married in red Benarasi sarees. The red bindi, the sindoor and the mogras in her hair just made the look more potent and powerful. She chose to wear heritage uncut diamond choker and jhumkas from the Sabyasachi Bridal Jewelry collection. Bollywood can play a major role in spreading awareness about Indian textiles and handlooms. And I must say the occasion couldn’t be better. I know copies of this saree will flood the entire country in the next few months to come, which also means that a million weaver’s children will be back at school. All I can say is thank you Anushka! Virat chose to complement his new bride in a very subtle and elegant manner. He wore a black textured silk signature bandhgala with the house buttons in 18k gold and a white silk kurta with hand-woven brocade churidaar. He teamed it with mojris from the Sabyasachi accessories line and a hand-embroidered antique Pashmina shawl from our ‘Kashmir Revival’ project. @anushkasharma @virat.kohli @bridesofsabyasachi @groomsofsabyasachi @tajdiplomaticenclave For all jewellery related queries, kindly contact #Sabyasachi #TheWorldOfSabyasachi #SabyasachiJewelry #AnushkaSharmaViratKohliReception #Virushka #AnushkaSharma #ViratKohli

For her Mumbai reception, Anushka wanted to wear old world glamour. And we decided to ‘Jazz’ it up in smoky grey. Hand beaten silver thread, textured sequins and cut organza flowers were assembled on an embroidered tulle base to create an ethereal lehenga. Award winning master craftsmen from Lucknow rendered her stunning dupatta which was clinched on the waist with our ‘Bengal tiger’ belt. Anushka’s look was accessorised with a necklace and earrings hand crafted with rose cut diamonds, solitaires and briolettes from the Sabyasachi fine jewelry collection. And BTW @virat.kohli looks absolutely dapper in a @raghavendra.rathore We had made a very similar piece and in the confusion of the great Indian wedding the credits got swapped. Mr. Mukherjee is personally a huge fan of the Rathore label and deeply regrets the error. @anushkasharma @virat.kohli @bridesofsabyasachi For all jewellery related queries, kindly contact #Sabyasachi #TheWorldOfSabyasachi #SabyasachiJewelry #AnushkaSharmaViratKohliReception #AnushkaSharma #ViratKohli #Virushka Styled by @alliaalrufai
