Deepika Padukone epitomises the true spirit of ‘Padmavati’. We tell you why

It all started with filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali announcing his dream project ‘Padmavati’ based on the story of Rani Padmini. Soon, he announced the star cast, which comprised of Deepika Padukone as Rani Padmavati, Shahid Kapoor as Maharawal Ratan Singh and Ranveer Singh as Alauddin Khilji. And there began the trouble. A self-proclaimed cultural protection organisation Shri Rajput Karni Sena, strongly opposed the movie and even vandalised the movie sets. Reason? Because according to them, the movie is a distortion of real historical facts and depicts a love angle between Rani Padmavati and Alauddin Khilji.

And before things could settle down, post the release and trailer of the movie, they woke up again, and started asking for a ban on the movie. Wait, there is more to come. They furthermore asked for the movie to be showcased to them before release and Bhansali had even agreed upon it, but they lost it completely, after Deepika Padukone said at an event that nothing can stop the movie from releasing.

Hence, started the real mayhem as not just the Sena members, but even some political leaders from BJP sprang into action and started threatening both Bhansali and Deepika. And those are some real life-threats where they announced an amount of Rs 10 crore for anybody who beheads Bhansali or burns alive Deepika. How insensible can someone get. On the other side, CBFC saw the movie refused to certify, citing technical issues as the reason. These factors forced the makers to defer the scheduled release date of December 1, 2017. While, more than the release date, what leaves us worried are the dangerous threats issued by the Sena members and some leaders. Even though, Bhansali and Deepika have been provided with tight security, the threats are so dangerous that it really scares us and we only hope for them to be safe. However, the lead actress Deepika Padukone who has been receiving the most absurd threats from different quarters has been continuing to make public appearances, for promoting her movie. It needs guts to go out in the open when you know that your life is in danger but the effect of ‘Padmavati’ has rubbed on to Deepika who epitomises the true spirit of Rani Padmini. Because Rani Padmini was a strong, fearless woman who embraced death with open arms as she couldn’t fathom the fact of being ruled or taken over by a ruthless emperor Alauddin Khilji. So, to protect her honour and dignity she committed jauhar. And, Deepika Padukone who has played the character has truly embodied the virtues of strength and fearlessness as she continues to promote her movie in spite of all the chaos and trouble.

Then, we spotted her celebrating her 10 years in the industry at Mehboob Studio with a fan who brought a cake for the actress. Not only did she cut the cake, but she also interacted with the fan and clicked pictures with him.

Next, she promoted her movie on the reality show ‘Super Dancer 2’ and had an amazing time dancing with the little kids and the judge Shilpa Shetty Kundra.
