From Shilpa Shetty to Iulia Vantur, ’tis the season of gold in Bolly town!
Shilpa Shetty Kundra
For the taping of the semi-finale episode of 'Super Dancer 2', Mrs Kundra was seen wearing a shimmery signature Tarun Tahiliani saree-gown. The outfit, with net detail at the hem, had a mermaidy feel and hugged her hips tight, accentuating her killer curves. We found this number soothing to the eye as it had a brown tinge and it was accessorised neatly with minimal earrings from Maliram Jewellers and a delicate bracelet from Archana Parasrampuria. We just wish the lip colour was more attention-seeking (that’s open to debate), but she pulled off the glam look effortlessly.
Although, we can’t still officially call her a Bollywood beauty, her association with the Khan-daan makes us include her in this list. Romanian beauty, Iulia Vantur, wore an out-an-out Manish Malhotra gown, with a net train and tassels, which was brimming with all things gold. While many called it kitschy, we think she wore it well. Isn’t there something about the ensemble that is oh-so-Arabic?
Shweta also took the all-gold route with this over-the-top studded gown one from Khosla Jani. The dress was cinched at the waist and had a bold plunging neckline, which the lady has been seen sporting quite a lot lately. Is it probably her sexy daughter Navya Naveli Nanda’s influence? Maybe! We just wish she had ditched that gold neckchain as it doesn’t add any value to the outfit.
The stunning Dia Mirza wore a silk organza anarkali in gold from Varun and Nidhika at an event in Lucknow recently and we couldn’t get over her graceful look. The ensemble had brown undertones and is one of the most sober outfits on our list. The ethnic number had heavy gold embroidery all over but the actress balanced it with her subtle makeup game. We love Dia’s wavy hair and of course, her endearing smile.
Gauri was spotted in one of her favourite designers, Monisha Jaising’s gold creations, at the Hello! Hall Of Fame Awards. We think she nailed the look with that wavy hair and the flared, sheer sleeves add a hint of fun. Is it just us who wants Gauri to experiment more with her makeup and do away with those foundations and highlighters that make her skin look washed out?
