Ajay Devgn recently released the first poster of his upcoming production ‘Sons of Sardaar’ which is a sequel to ‘Son of Sardaar’.

Now the latest news that has been doing the rounds is that the intense actor Randeep Hooda has been roped in to play the main lead in ‘Son of Sardaar: The Battle of Sargarhi’. Reportedly, the ‘Sarbjit’ actor will be essaying the role of  a Sikh soldier Havildar Ishar Singh.

As a part of prep, Randeep will be learning sword fighting for the movie and will sport a turban and a beard in the Rajkumar Santoshi directorial.

The film is based on a true story of the ‘Battle of Saragarhi’ which was fought on September 12, 1897, by 21 Sikhs of the 4th Battalion of the Sikh Regiment. The entire battalion lost their lives fighting against 10,000 Afghans. The battle was held in the North-West Frontier Province and the 21 Sikh contingent was led by Havildar Ishar Singh and they all fought to death.
