Whenever a Vishal Bhardwaj’s film is out, the expectations from the film’s album is high as the director is quite popular for his musical sensibilities. The lyrics of ‘Balma’ which goes like ‘Ek Tero Balma Ek Mero Balma Tero Gundo Balma Re, Mero Nek Balma’ are penned by the one and only Gulzar. And the song is crooned by two of the best singers of Bollywood – Rekha Bhardwaj and Sunidhi Chauhan.

In the song, we can see both the sisters Badki and Chhutki played by Radhika Madan and Sanya Malhotra, trying to bring down each other by criticizing their Balmas (lovers). The song has a full-on rustic feel to it and you will be amused by Radhika and Sanya’s dance steps and expressions. ‘Balma’ gives us a glimpse of the love-hate relationship the two sisters share in the film.

At some point, the song will remind you of ‘Sun sun sun didi tere liye song from Rekha starrer ‘Khubsoorat’. In that song as well, the younger sister is pulling the leg of her elder sister. Interestingly, the lyrics of that song too are penned by Gulzar.

Helmed by Vishal Bhardwaj, ‘Pataakha’ stars Sanya Malhotra, Radhika Madan, Sunil Grover, Vijay Raaz, Namit Das, Abhishek Duhan and Saanand Verma in significant roles. The film is scheduled to hit the silver screens on September 28.
