Raman Raghav 2.0 trailer

Director Anurag Kashyap has the knack of portraying all things dark and ugly in a highly stylised manner, and he has been consistent with this ever since his unreleased debut film, ‘Paanch’. It has continued till his last two feature films, ‘Ugly’ and ‘Bombay Velvet’. If the trailer of his latest, ‘Raman Raghav 2.0,’ is anything to go by, the audience must gear up for another saga of blood, gore, drugs, sex and violence. Kashyap’s ‘RR2.0’ is a remake/tribute/sequel to director Sriram Raghavan’s film, ‘Raman Raghav,’ which was his student film – a documentary feature about a real life psychopath-serial killer.

In ‘RR 2.0’, Nawazuddin plays the role of Raman, the killer, and Vicky Kaushal plays the role of Raghav, the bad cop. As is expected from all Anurag Kashyap films, thisĀ is stylish and trippy enough – violent men on substance, demure women surrendering to such men, and the works. It is still early to say if a film like this will be accepted by the regular audience, but we can be sure that it will make us all proud at Cannes this year. From whatever little one can hear of the film’s music from the trailer, looks like Ram Sampath along with National Award-winning lyricist Varun Grover, has pulled off a ‘Delhi Belly’.

We are eager to see the bloody deadly cat and mouse game between Nawazuddin and Vicky when the film releases later next month. Do you think you have an appetite for this kind of film? Share with us in the comments’ section.
