Bollywood’s most awaited film ‘Bombay Velvet‘ makers have been whetting the appetite of the viewers with tidbits. A glimpse of the look of the stars to scoops on the film. Now they have unleashed a vintage song Fifi from the movie. Featuring Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma, the song depicts beautifully the 1960s Bombay in all its glory.

From the costumes to the beats of the song, ‘Fifi’ from Anurag Kashyap’s ‘Bombay Velvet’ is all things vintage. Director Anurag Kashyap has taken you to the glorious 60s with film sets and costumes. The song too keeps in mind the era, from the beats to the costumes everything is in tandem with that era.

A peppy score that has the gorgeous lady Anushka Sharma, rolling to the beat of drums and crooning a peppy jazz number. Along with Anushka it also has the Handsome Ranbir Kapoor and the debonair Karan Johar in it. It is through this song that Anushka’s character Rosie gets noticed as a singer in a club and becomes the marquee performer at ‘Bombay Velvet’.

Anushka Sharma is seen lip-syncing Geeta Dutt’s Jaata Kahaan Hain Deewane from 1956 film CID. She plays a jazz singer in the film who falls for a street fighter named Johnny.The original song was sung by Dutt and was picturised on the legendary actress Waheeda Rehman. CID also starred late actor Dev Anand.

It is through this song that Anushka’s character Rosie gets noticed as a singer in a club and becomes the marquee performer at Bombay Velvet.

Set against the backdrop of ambition, love, greed, and jazz – Bombay Velvet is the story of one ordinary man who goes against all odds and forges his destiny to become a big shot. Directed by Anurag Kashyap, the film is slated to release on May 15.
