Shah Rukh Khan approached by Madhur Bhandarkar for his next?

Shah Rukh Khan has been in the film industry for over 25 years and enjoys a huge fan-following all over the world. He had done films of different genres which have received a lot of acclaim from the critics and love from the audiences too. King Khan is one of the most successful and famous Bollywood stars across the globe.

He is also known as the ‘Badshah of Bollywood’ and ‘King of Romance’ and has played some memorable characters. He is also quite popular for turning down some of the iconic films. SRK has given numerous hits but there have been a few box-office failures in his career with the latest one being ‘Zero’.

On the other hand, Madhur Bhandarkar (who last directed ‘Calendar Girls’) is all set to make a new film, titled ‘Inspector Ghalib’. The movie is based on the sand mafias in India. According to a source close to a leading daily, SRK is considering to take up his first ever cop-based project with director Madhur Bhandarkar for his next film.

“Cop films are doing well. Inspector Ghalib is the story of a cop who is up in arms against illegal sand mining in various parts of the country, and he takes on the sand mafia. And like every other Madhur film, this will not be a movie like a ‘Simmba’ or a ‘Singham’. It will cock-a-snook at the issue and will tickle the underbelly of the system that supports illegal sand mining,” the source had informed a daily.

Adding further, another source revealed to Pinkvilla, “Madhur Bhandarkar had a meeting with Shah Rukh Khan and narrated the script to him. SRK has liked it but he is yet to give his nod to the filmmaker. Since Shah Rukh has opted out of ‘Saare Jahan Se Achcha’, he is considering different roles and projects. Inspector Ghalib is one of them.”

Recently, at the Umang festival, SRK had recently hinted about wanting to play a cop in the near future. On the work front, Shah Rukh Khan has not officially announced his upcoming project as of now. There are reports doing the rounds on the internet that he is collaborating with actor-filmmaker Farhan Akhtar for ‘Don 3’.
