Shah Rukh Khan recently paid gratitude to all the people who contributed to making Chak De! India. The star is celebrating the 14 glorious years of the movie by sending a special token of love to all his co-stars and director Shimit Amin. “Just felt like thanking all the young ladies of Chak De India for making the film such a beautiful experience. And Shimit, Adi, yrf #MirRanjanNegi, jaideepsahni, sudeepdop,Sukhwindermusic and all involved with this labour of love for making me the ‘Gunda’ of the film….(sic),” Shah Rukh wrote. The superstar took to Instagram shared a hazy selfie flaunting his stubble look and he wore a blue and black coloured hoodie.

SRK has a dialogue in the flick where he says, “Har team mein sirf ek hi gunda ho sakta hai aur is team ka gunda main hoon” Chake De! India was released under the banner of Yash Raj Films in 2007. The movie narrates the story of a former Hockey star who is accused of betraying his country. Shah Rukh Khan was seen playing the role of Kabir Khan who was the coach of the Indian women’s hockey team. While the superstar had won millions of hearts with his stint in the movie, his character continues to rule the hearts.

Shortly after the film’s release, the media began referring to the 16 actresses who portrayed the players as the Chak De! girls. Shah Rukh is currently filming his next Pathan. The film also stars Deepika Padukone and John Abraham in pivotal roles and will also feature Salman Khan. Pathan is directed by Siddharth Anand. Some parts of the film were also shot in Dubai.
