Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan celebrates August 2 as his second birthday as it was on this day the actor returned from dead. The Shahenshah took to his social media handle and thanked his fans for their prayers that gave him a second lease of life.

It so happened that Big B was critically injured while shooting for a fight sequence with actor Puneet Issar for ‘Coolie’, which resulted in an internal abdominal injury. The actor was reportedly declared clinically dead for a few minutes before being put on the ventilator. From Bangalore, he was rushed to a hospital in Mumbai. Call it an answer to his fans prayers, the superstar finally moved a muscle on August 2.

Taking to his social media handle, Big B expressed gratitude towards his fans whose prayers kept him alive.

He wrote, “To them that have sent greetings for my 2nd birthday Aug 2, a recovery from my Coolie accident, I send my gracious thanks .. it shall be difficult for me to acknowledge and thank all .. but I do know that it was your prayers that saved my life.”

He also mentioned the incident in his blog and wrote, “There is enormous amounts of celebratory mention and wishes for the 2nd of August, the day when I recovered from my Coolie accident .. to live another day, through the prayers of the millions that saved my life through their devotion to the Almighty .. a heaviest debt that I shall happily bear, and ever be in a state of never being able to repay it .”

“There is sufficient media coverage on those times and days .. for me then to elaborate would be boring and repetitious .. best then to avoid and be in gratitude and prayer,” Big B added.

Not many know that Amitabh Bachchan was infused with 60 bottles of blood among which, one carried a Hepatitis B infected blood. Big B got infected with the deadly disease and the cirrhosis damaged 75 percent of his liver. But Big B recovered from the life-threatening situation and was back on the sets on January 7.

Coming to his current films, the megastar is currently shooting for Ayan Mukerji’s next ‘Brahmastra’ which also features Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Nagarjuna, Dimple Kapadia and Mouni Roy. He also plays a prominent role in ‘Thugs Of Hindostan’ which also stars Aamir Khan, Katrina Kaif and Fatima Sana Shaikh in pivotal roles.
