Aamir Khan Calls Son Junaid Khan ‘Lambi Race Ka Ghoda’; Says, “Failures Don’t Faze Him”

Aamir Khan recently praised his son Junaid Khan’s independence and honesty in acting, reminiscing about his childhood ahead of the release of Ek Din. Junaid made his acting debut with Maharaj and received praise for his performance, though his first theatrical release, Loveyapa, didn’t make a significant impact. Now, Junaid is all set to star in his father Aamir Khan’s upcoming production, Ek Din.

Aamir Khan Calls Son Junaid Khan ‘Lambi Race Ka Ghoda’

In a recent interview with Radio City India, Aamir described his son as a “lambi race ka ghoda,” drawing a comparison between himself and Junaid. He shared, “Junaid aisa nahi hai, vo mujhe kabhi kuch karne nahi dega. He is a very independent guy, very strong-willed and doesn’t give up easily. Voh lambi race ka ghoda hai, jo mere baare mein bhi bola jaata tha jab main pehle pehle aaya tha (He’s a long-distance runner, the same thing people used to say about me when I had just started out). Failures don’t faze him, and he’s very honest with himself.”

The superstar added that Junaid approaches each role with complete honesty, fully immersing himself in the character. Referring to his performance in Maharaj, Aamir said, “He has also followed his character in Ek Din with full honesty. Although it’s not a very heroic character, he has never tried to step out of it. That shows his honesty towards his work.”

About Ek Din

The romantic drama, directed by Sunil Pandey and produced by Mansoor Khan, Aamir Khan, and Aparna Purohit under Aamir Khan Productions, stars Sai Pallavi and Junaid Khan in the lead roles. The film is a remake of the 2016 Thai film One Day and also features Kunal Kapoor, Kavin Dave, and Pragati Mishra in key roles.

Ek Din marks Sai Pallavi’s Bollywood debut. Recently, at an event called Ek Din Ki Mehfil, Aamir praised her performance, stating that audiences would be blown away by her work and calling her the “best actress in our country.”

This film is also Junaid’s second theatrical release. His first, Loveyapa, with Khushi Kapoor, underperformed at the box office, with many critics criticising their performances. However, the film later gained an audience on OTT platforms.
