Some days back, actor Kartik Aaryan announced that he is collaborating with filmmaker Anurag Basu for Aashiqui 3. Having said that, rumour reports started buzzing that actor Jennifer Winget will be making her Bollywood debut by starring in Kartik Aaryan starrer. Moreover, there were reports that Shraddha Kapoor is also in the race to bag the leading lady role.

Well, now, putting all the rumours to rest, the spokesperson of T-Series has released an official statement stating that there’s no truth to it while stating that they are yet to finalise the leading lady for Aashiqui 3.

The statement read, “There is no truth to any rumours pertaining to the female lead opposite Kartik Aaryan in ‘Aashiqui 3.’ The search for the perfect fit for the movie is still ongoing. We are currently in a very early stage where we are still coming up with ideas for the movie. Much like the audience, we are eagerly awaiting to finalise the female lead of the film and would love to share it with the fans as early as possible.”

Nevertheless, earlier, Anurag Basu also reacted to the rumours of Jennifer Winget being a part of Kartik Aaryan starrer. He told India Forums, “Well, I’ve been also hearing about these rumours. However, honestly, we’re currently at a very nascent stage. We’re currently ideating about various other aspects of film-making. Casting will be locked later on.

On September 5, the Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 actor shared the announcement with a motion poster, he wrote, “Ab Tere Bin Ji Lenge Hum Zeher Zindagi Ka Pi Lenge Hum #Aashiqui3 This one is going to be Heart-wrenching !! My First with Basu Da”.

Aashiqui (1990) starrer Rahul Roy and Anu Agarwal. Mohit Suri then took forward the franchise and directed Aashiqui 2 which starred Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor. Well, now Anurag is going to take the sequel ahead with Kartik headlining the film.
