Abhishek Bachchan Reveals He’s NOT Insecure Of Aishwarya Rai’s Success; Says, “My Mother Was The Bigger Star”

In a recent chat with Lilly Singh, Abhishek shared that his understanding of equality in relationships was shaped early on. Recalling how Jaya Bachchan had a larger fan following than Amitabh, he explained, “I experienced that at home too. When my parents married, my mother was the bigger star. It wasn’t unusual or uncomfortable. I wasn’t raised to think I had to be the dominant one; it was always about partnership.”

He further mentioned that the concept of being “the man of the house” never figured into his relationship with Aishwarya. “We had a strong friendship long before we got together,” he said. “I knew Aishwarya from the start of my career—she was the second actress I ever worked with, and we’ve worked together the most. We weren’t a couple then, just friends. When we eventually became a couple, and through our courtship, engagement, and marriage, it’s always been about partnership. There’s never been a ‘you do this, I do that’ kind of thing. It’s very natural and effortless.”

Regarding their relationship, there have been persistent rumors over the years suggesting that all isn’t well between Abhishek and Aishwarya, who married in 2007 and share daughter Aaradhya, born in 2011.
