The new project is expected to begin filming in August 2026, immediately following the completion of Tu Meri Main Tera and Naagzilla. According to a Bollywood Hungama report, Kartik has already given his nod to take on another leading role under Dharma’s banner. While the details of the film remain under wraps, sources indicate that the script is still being developed from the ground up.

An insider revealed, “Kartik has approved Karan Johar’s next project, and the specifics are being kept tightly under wraps. Within Dharma, he’s now being positioned as the new poster boy, leading multiple high-profile projects. Karan believes Kartik is one of the most bankable stars in the country right now, and he’s placing big box-office hopes on Tu Meri Main Tera and Naagzilla to deliver major hits.”

This upcoming film is being described as genre-defining, although official details are yet to be disclosed. What’s clear is that the shooting will commence in August 2026, promising an eventful period ahead for both Karan Johar and Kartik Aaryan.

Meanwhile, excitement continues to build around Naagzilla, which is reportedly being developed as a franchise. Kartik will remain the central figure across all instalments, while the cast and crew may change with each film. The same source shared, “Once the first Naagzilla film is released, pre-production for the next instalment will begin. Kartik will be the only constant in the series, with the rest of the cast and crew changing for each new film.”

In the movie, Kartik portrays Preyamvadeshwar Pyare Chand, an Ichhadhaari Naag (shape-shifting serpent), with the fantasy drama scheduled for release on August 14, 2026, timed to coincide with Naag Panchami.
