Meanwhile, influencer Orhan Awatramani (also known as “Orry”) has been called in for questioning on November 26, after failing to show up on a previous date.

The summons come from the Ghatkopar unit of the Anti Narcotics Cell (ANC), after the names of Kapoor and Awatramani surfaced during questioning of the key accused Mohammed Salim Mohammed Suhail Shaikh, alias Lavish in a Rs 252 crore (about US$30 m+) mephedrone racket.

Shaikh is alleged to have organised high-end rave parties, both in India and abroad, attended by personalities from the film and fashion world, a politician and a relative of fugitive gangster Dawood Ibrahim.

Siddhanth Kapoor was earlier detained in Bengaluru in 2022 on charges of drug consumption. The wider probe is being handled jointly by the ANC and the Mumbai Crime Branch, with other Bollywood and fashion figures expected to be summoned as part of the investigation.
