Actor Ahan Shetty is all set to return to the big screen after a four-year hiatus. Suniel Shetty’s son, who’s all set to play an Air Force officer in Border 2, was last seen in the 2021 romantic-actioner, Tadap. Earlier today, the teaser for the upcoming epic war drama was unveiled in Mumbai, and the young actor got emotional. During the event, Ahan touched Sunny Deol’s feet as he got on stage and opened up about the advice his dad, who played Assistant Commandant Bhairon Singh Rathore, SM, in the 1997 drama, gave him ahead of the film’s shoot.
Ahan Shetty on Taking Forward His Father’s Legacy In Border 2
Calling Border 2 co-star Sunny Deol “an absolute legend,” Ahan Shetty said he felt honoured to share the stage with the actor. He also drew a heartfelt connection to his father, Suniel Shetty, saying, “Sunny sir did Border with my father, so in a way, I am carrying that legacy forward.”
Acknowledging the pressure of stepping into a film so deeply rooted in audience memory, Ahan didn’t shy away from admitting his nerves. “There is a certain kind of pressure, but as they say, baap toh baap hota hai,” he remarked. The actor also added that he has set realistic expectations for himself by saying, “If I can even be 10% of what my father was in that film, I think I will be able to do justice to the character.”
Opening up about his initial days on set, Ahan revealed just how overwhelming the experience was. He said, “The first few days, I was petrified. My hands were shaking,”
Sharing the advice he received from his father ahead of the film, Ahan said Suniel Shetty encouraged him to stay grounded. “He told me to just be honest, be myself and have fun. He also said not to think too much about what people have to say and not to compare Border 2 with Border,” Ahan shared.
