However, recent reports sparked speculation about a possible title change, prompting Aamir Khan to address the rumours and set the record straight.

Recent reports had claimed that the film might be retitled Batwara 1947, sparking speculation among fans and industry watchers. Speculation about a possible change began after some industry chatter suggested that an Indian film, named after a city in Pakistan, might face hesitation among the audience, given the current situation within the countries. However, Aamir Khan most certainly denied any such rumours.

However, according to Bollywood Hungama reports, Aamir Khan has now clarified that no such decision has been made. Reacting to the rumours, Aamir Khan firmly denied that the makers were planning to alter the title of the film. He laughed and said, “Where did you hear that? No, the title of our film has not changed. As of now, it is Lahore 1947, and that’s how I would like it to be.”

However, the speculation around a possible title change surfaced amid discussions that naming a film after a Pakistani city might invite controversy. Despite this chatter, however, the actor-producer made it clear that he intends to retain the original title.

Notably, Lahore 1947 marks the first collaboration between Sunny Deol, director Rajkumar Santoshi, and producer Aamir Khan. The cast includes Sunny Deol, along with Shabana Azmi, Preity Zinta, Ali Fazal, and Karan Deol in key roles. The soundtrack will be composed by AR Rahman, with lyrics by Javed Akhtar.
