Actor Manchu Vishnu has announced on social media that he will be postponing the trailer launch of his highly anticipated film Kannappa, also starring Akshay Kumar, in light of the recent Ahmedabad plane crash, which has deeply shaken the nation. The film is scheduled for release on June 27.

Vishnu Manchu, Akshay Kumar Postpone Kannappa Trailer Launch

On social media, Vishnu expressed his condolences, “My heart breaks for the lives lost in today’s Ahmedabad Air India crash. In deep mourning, we’re deferring the #Kannappa trailer release by one day and cancelling tomorrow’s pre-release event in Indore. My prayers are with the families during this unimaginably difficult time.”

Originally, after a successful pre-release event in Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, the trailer for Kannappa was set to be launched in Indore on June 13, 2025. The event was also to feature Bollywood star Akshay Kumar, who was expected to attend and interact with the media. However, the team has now decided to cancel the event out of respect and sensitivity.

About Kannappa

Kannappa, directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh, is a mythological epic that promises a grand visual experience. Vishnu Manchu, who stars in the lead role and also served as the film’s screenwriter, plays the devoted follower of Lord Shiva. The project features an ensemble cast including Mohan Babu, Kajal Aggarwal, Prabhas, Mohanlal, Arpit Ranka, and several other prominent Indian actors. The film is set to hit theatres on June 27, 2025.

About Ahmedabad Plane Crash

The tragic crash involved an Air India flight carrying 242 passengers. The aircraft, en route to London, crashed shortly after takeoff on May 12, Thursday, in a residential area near Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Airport in Ahmedabad.
