Akshay Kumar, Karan Johar Admit Kesari Chapter 2 Receiving CBFC’s ‘A’ Certificate; Reveals There Are No Cuts In The Historical Courtroom Drama

During the press conference of Kesari Chapter 2, Akshay Kumar and Karan Johar responded to the film getting an ‘A’ certificate and reveals no AI has been used in making it.

When asked about Kesari Chapter 2 getting an ‘A’ (Adult) certificate, Akshay Kumar said, “There must be few things that they think that must have been right. And, I take their decision, that’s it.” Karan Johar added, “It’s the same reason. So we accepted the certificate absolutely. And there were no cuts.”

According to the CBFC website, the certificate was granted on April 9, 2025. The adult rating hints at the film’s intense and possibly graphic portrayal of one of India’s most turbulent chapters, the aftermath of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre. The courtroom drama has already generated buzz for its bold narrative and powerful performances. The film, starring Akshay Kumar, Ananya Panday, and R Madhavan, has now been cleared for release. Its runtime of 135 minutes and 6 seconds is just over two hours and fifteen minutes.
