Dhurandhar The Revenge continues to dominate the box office after 5 days of release. Emerging as one of the biggest cinematic events of the year. The spy action thriller, led by Ranveer Singh and directed by Aditya Dhar, has already crossed the Rs 500 crore mark in India. The film is being widely praised for its gripping storytelling and intense, high-octane action sequences.
Akshay Kumar Is Confident That Dhurandhar The Revenge’s Massive Run Won’t Affect Bhooth Bangla At The Box Office
Amid this wave of action-heavy blockbusters, Akshay Kumar is gearing up to return to comedy with Bhooth Bangla, marking his much-anticipated reunion with filmmaker Priyadarshan after nearly 14 years. Known for delivering iconic comedies together, the duo’s latest collaboration is a horror-comedy, reminiscent in tone but distinct in treatment from films like Bhool Bhulaiyaa. The project has already generated significant buzz, especially among fans eager to see Akshay Kumar back in his comic element. Bhooth Bangla releases in theatres on 10 April, 2026.
However, despite Dhurandhar The Revenge’s massive success and the current dominance of action and spy thrillers. Akshay Kumar remains unfazed by industry trends.
Speaking to PTI, the actor emphasised that the team never shaped Bhooth Bangla around prevailing box office patterns. He said, “There are different kinds of films (being made). Dhurandhar is a great film, I’ve seen it. This (Bhooth Bangla) is a different film. Dhurandhar is an adult film; this (Bhooth Bangla) is for kids and families.”
He further added, “When we made this film, we didn’t look at what the current trend is; we looked at whether the story was good or not and accordingly, we made this film. We never thought about the trend.”
Priyadarshan On Bhooth Bangla
Echoing a similar sentiment, director Priyadarshan underlined that audiences are open to diverse storytelling and do not limit themselves to a single genre. “Films like Dhurandhar, Border 2, all are doing extremely well, and all of a sudden, when you take a break and do something different, it is great. People who watch films like Dhurandhar can also enjoy it,” he said.
Interestingly, Dhurandhar The Revenge’s phenomenal success has led several films to reshuffle their release plans to avoid a box office clash. Yet, industry voices continue to highlight that strong content across genres can coexist and thrive.
