Akshay Kumar’s Production House SUES Paresh Rawal For Rs 25 Crore; Legal Notice Sent Over Abrupt Exit From Hera Pheri 3 – Report

Paresh Rawal’s exit from Akshay Kumar and Suniel Shetty starrer Hera Pheri 3 has raised a lot of eyebrows. This move has disheartened fans who were yearning to see the iconic trio 0f Raju, Shayam and Babu Bhai together. Few days back, Paresh Rawal clarified that he has now opted out of the film owing to creative differences. However, as per latest reports, the actor walked out of the film as he demanded an unreasonable fee and he has now been sued by the makers. Akshay Kumar’s firm have now sent legal notice to Paresh Rawal.

As per reports in India Today, contrary to reports of creative differences, the real reason behind Rawal’s exit was his hefty fee demand. The actor demanded Rs 25 crore for his role and this move didn’t sit well with Akshay Kumar who then sent a legal notice to Paresh Rawal.

A source shares with Pinkvilla, “Cape of Good Films had procured the rights of Hera Pheri 3 from multiple stakeholders, and even repaid all the debts existing on the film. The amount splurged was in crores, as the intent was to get back Hera Pheri on the big screen after 20 years to the audience. Paresh’s unprofessional behaviour has cost a bomb to the film. Hindi Film Industry has gone the Hollywood way, as the producers are no longer kowtowing to the demands of actors. In the modern world, contracts are in place to avoid situations like this, and actors backing out at the last minute spells danger.”

About The Franchise

The Hera Pheri franchise began with the 2000 film Hera Pheri, directed by Priyadarshan. Its sequel, Phir Hera Pheri, released in 2006, was directed by Neeraj Vora. The third installment is reportedly being helmed by Priyadarshan once again. The characters from the film, Babu Bhaiya(Paresh Rawal), Raju(Akshay Kumar) and Shyam (Suniel Shetty) continue to remain etched in fans hearts. Even the memes on them bring back nostalgia.

On the work front, the iconic trio will feature in Welcome To The Jungle which is all set to release year end. While Priyadarshan is working on Bhoot Bangla with Paresh Rawal and Akshay.
