Amitabh Bachchan’s grandson Agastya Nanda is all set to carry forward his grandfather’s legacy in Bollywood soon, but even before his first film hits the screens, the youngster has already bagged his second movie and it’s a biggie. Today, as veteran superstar Dharmendra celebrates his 86th birthday, Dinesh Vijan and Sriram Raghavan announced their reunion after Badlapur, with the war drama Ikkis which will feature the megastar Dharmendra alongside Agastya Nanda.

The makers took to social media to make the announcement official with a picture of Dharmendra ji, Agastya Nanda, Dinesh Vijan and Sriram Raghavan. Along with it they wrote, ” We’re excited to team up with the National Award-winning director @sriram.raghavanofficial, again after #Badlapur, for #IKKIS, a war drama, based on the life of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal PVC. Produced by #DineshVijan, the film stars the megastar @aapkadharam and #AgastyaNanda. (sic)”.

The film is a a war-drama based on the life of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal PVC. During the 1971 Indo-Pak war, the 21-year-old officer showed immense courage, standing up to unrelenting attacks by the Pakistan army. He was posthumously awarded with India’s highest military decoration, the Param Vir Chakra, for his distinguished acts of valour during war time, becoming the youngest recipient of the honour. Ikkis was earlier supposed to feature Varun Dhawan in the lead, however the actor had to drop out from the film and now Agastya has taken his place. It will be going on floors next year.

Meanwhile, Agastya will be making his acting debut with Zoya Akhtar’s The Archies, which also marks the debut of Shah Rukh Khan’s daughter Suhana Khan, Boney Kapoor and Sridevi’s younger daughter Khushi Kapoor, alongside Yuvraj Menda, Dot, Mihir Ahuja and Vedang Raina. Whereas, Dharmendra ji will be seen in Karan Johar’s Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, while also reuniting with his sons Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol, and teaming up with his grandson Karan Deol for the first time in Apne 2.
