Last evening (Wednesday, June 19), the makers of Kalki 2898 AD organized a pre-release event with the media in Mumbai. The film’s lead actors – Prabhas. Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone and Kamal Haasan as well as its director, Nag Ashwini and actor Daggubati were in attendance. The star-studded event included several adorable moments but the one that won the hearts of million is without a doubt the actors fighting to help mom-to-be Deepika get on and off the stage.

Amitabh Bachchan-Prabhas fight to help Deepika Padukone

In videos shared online from last night’s Kalki 2898 AD event, we see the film’s star cast being called to the stage. The first called to the stage here was Amitabh Bachchan followed by Prabhas and then the soon-to-be mother Deepika Padukone. As the actress struggled to get up and make her way to the podium, Rana Daggubati was quick to his feet to provide assistance. At the same time, AB descended from the stage to help her. While this clip of her getting on stage is adorable, the interaction on her return to her seat is the sweetest.

In another clip shared online, we see all the gentlemen rushing to help Deepika – flaunting her baby bump in a figure-hugging black dress, off the stage. As she gets down from the stage, we see Prabhas lend her a helping hand and Amitabh Bachchan hilariously chiding him for beating him to it. We see the senior actor playfully pull the ‘Baahubali’ star behind, making all present have a smile on their face. Check out the adorable clip here:

Deepika jokes about her pregnancy

During the event, Rana Daggubati jokingly asked Deepika about staying in character – she plays a pregnant character named Sumati or SUM-80, months after Kalki’s filming wrapped. She humorously replied, “The movie went on for three years, I was like, why not 9 months more.” Deepika later pulled Prabhas’ legs and blamed him for the way her pregnant stomach looked. She said, “I’m actually like this because of all the food Prabhas fed me. It got to the point where it was a full catering service, not just food from home. He feeds from the heart.”
