Mubarakan

Thanks to the entertainment quotient present in it, Anees Bazmee’s ‘Mubarakan’ is being appreciated as a family drama. The film, on its second day, has seen a growth of around 40% in its box office collection, as compared to its first day collection.

Staying true to his principles of filmmaking, Anees Bazmee carefully excluded any skin show, double meaning jokes or any other similar content that might bar a family from watching it together. Hence, the ‘clean comedy’ is what many are admiring.

“My comedies are watched by the entire family and kids love my humour. I’ve a mother, a wife and sister at home. And I’ve a daughter. I wouldn’t like to do anything in my films that would make me cringe in front of them,” Bazmee had earlier said.

The film raked around Rs 7 crore on Saturday. (Also Read: While ‘Mubarakan’ takes a leap, ‘Indu Sarkar’ remains low on collections)

“I am extremely happy that audiences are enjoying the film and the positive word of mouth is bringing all families to the theatres. The masses are getting their entertainment and the whistles and the claps in the theatres that I have seen is very gratifying,” Bazmee, who is happy with the film’s growth, stated.

Arjun Kapoor, who plays a double role, told a leading publication, “When I heard good things about the film from friends and fans on social media, I felt vindicated as an actor that my decision to do this film was correct.”

The film is about a glittery Punjabi wedding, which however, is full of confusion as the twin brothers are being made to marry each other’s girlfriend. Anil Kapoor has delivered a power-packed performance along with a perfect comic timing. He, in fact, is the show-stealer.

Apart from Anil Kapoor and Arjun Kapoor, ‘Mubarakan’ also stars Athiya Shetty and Ileana D’Cruz.
