During the release of Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel and Utkarsh Sharma’s Gadar 2, the actress and the film’s director, Anil Sharma, had a major public fallout. While talking about it, the actress stated that she felt ‘cheated’ after the climax of the film was changed without her knowledge. She also added that she had been expecting Sakina to have a more prominent role in film. Soon after, Anil reacted to accusation and went on to call the actress ‘moody.’ Stating that everyone is entitled to their opinions, he added that he still considers Ameesha to be a part of his family.
Now, the filmmaker has opened up about their bond, whether the issues are sorted and the hatchet buried for good. At the same time, Anil has also shared some interesting details about the film’s third part – Gadar 3. Read on to know all he said.
Anil Sharma Says “Sab Badhiya Hai” With Ameesha Patel
During a past podcast with Maniesh Paul, Ameesha Patel claimed that the climax sequence of Gadar 2 was shot without her. However, she chooses to ‘let bygones be bygones’ but her bond with the maker got effected. Now, during a chat with News18 Showsha, Anil Sharma opened up about their bond, saying, “My equation with Ameesha is great now. Waqt ke saath saath sab cheezein sahi ho jaati hai. Abhi sab badhiya hai!”
During an old chat session on X (formerly Twitter), Ameesha Patel opened up about the ‘creative differences’ between her and Anil Sharma, stating that she would do Gadar 3 only if she’s ‘super excited’ about the script as she was with Gadar: Ek Prem Katha and there was proper paperwork and contractual documents in place. When asked if Ameesha will be part of the threequel, Anil stated, “Sakeena and Tara are an integral part of Gadar. But we’ll discuss more about her character before the release of Gadar 3.”
Anil Sharma Shares Gadar 3 Details
During the same chat, the ‘Apne’ filmmaker revealed that the script of Gadar 3 has been written and locked, and fans wouldn’t have to wait decades for it to release. He said, “Gadar 3 will definitely get made. We’ve already made a commitment to the audience in the last scene of Gadar 2 where Utkarsh’s (Sharma) character Jeete is told that he’s worthy of joining the army. We ended the film with the message – to be continued.”
Sharing more details, Anil Sharma added, “Making Gadar 3 will take some time but the audience can be assured that it won’t take another 20 years (laughs). We’re hoping to take it to the floors in the next two years. We’ve already worked on the script. It will focus on the stories of Tara and Jeete.” For those who don’t know, Gadar: Ek Prem Katha released in 2001 and the sequel, Gadar 2 released 22 years in 2023. Both films were immensely loved by the audience and did wonders at the box office.
